School exams are coming up again, so it is time to revise and practise. Ellen van Alten has developed a fun idea in the Facebook group Biologiedocenten (Biology Teachers). This is based on the exam questions featured in the MAX edition of Biologie voor jou. Working in pairs, pupils try to answer as many questions as possible; the questions are laid out around the classroom or, alternatively, made available via an online platform. The pupils’ goal? To answer as many questions (correctly!) as possible in order to earn sweets. If they answer a question correctly, they receive a number of sweets equal to the number of marks for that question. But if they get it wrong, they have to hand the sweets back. Once a question has been solved, pupils can no longer earn sweets from it.
