NIBI General Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions of Delivery
The following terms and conditions of delivery apply to all activities carried out by the Netherlands Institute for Biology (NIBI), including education, projects, and consultancy.
The NIBI handles information received in the context of training courses, cooperation agreements, or assignments confidentially. With the permission of and in consultation with the participants, project partners, or clients, the NIBI may proceed to publication. The NIBI has drawn up a privacy statement and adheres to it.
The copyright of all materials produced by NIBI rests with NIBI. By mutual agreement, copyright may be transferred to participants for their own use, to project partners, or to clients.
NIBI provides short vocational education, offers advice, and realizes projects based on its knowledge and experience. NIBI cannot accept any liability for the content of advice.
A cooling-off period of 15 working days applies to all agreements entered into with the NIBI.
Force Majeure
If too few people have registered for the course, the NIBI may cancel the course or combine it with a subsequent course. You will be notified of this in good time. You can choose between a refund or attending the next available course.
If too many people have registered for a course, participants will be placed based on the order of registration. Those who are unable to attend the course as a result can choose to be placed on a waiting list or receive a refund.
If, during a course, the instructor is unable to be present on the announced day for any reason, you will be notified of this, and a substitute instructor will conduct the lesson on the relevant course day. If the instructor cannot be present on the announced day and there is no possibility of engaging a substitute instructor, the course day will be postponed. You will be notified of this as soon as possible. If you yourself are unable to attend a day during the course due to, for example, illness or force majeure, you must indicate this as soon as possible. Together with the instructor, alternative course options or additional homework will be considered. If the course cannot proceed due to external causes that cannot be resolved by either the participant or the NIBI, the NIBI will do its utmost to propose an alternative date or to continue the course in an alternative manner. This will only happen in exceptional cases.
Cancellation Policy for Training and Conferences
These cancellation conditions only apply after the expiration of the 15-working-day cooling-off period that commences after registration for a conference or course. You must notify us of any cancellation before the start of the conference or course as soon as possible. The closer the start date, the more difficult it is for NIBI to place a replacement participant. You may, if necessary, nominate a replacement participant yourself up to the day of the activity, such as a colleague. No administrative fees are payable for this.
You must notify the administration via info@nibi.nl or the lecturer of any cancellation during a multi-day course as soon as possible. No refunds are possible.
You may cancel free of charge up to 10 working days before the start of the training or conference; after that, up to 5 working days before the activity, half of the participant fee will be charged upon cancellation. From 5 working days before the activity, you owe the full amount. You can cancel a training or conference by sending an email to info@nibi.nl
CRKBO registration
Since May 2011, the NIBI has been included in the Central Register for Short Vocational Education (CRKBO).
